How Long Should Thyroxine Be Taken To Treat Thyroid Disorder?

hi doctor,1month ago my TFT report was TSH 6.45 T3 T4 was normal as per my doctor s order i staeted to take take thyroxin tab 25mcg after 1moth again i did my TFT in that TSH is .45 T3 T4 is normal.what should i do with the medication .is there need to continue the medication or i can stop the medication.i hope u will reply soon

The duration of treatment to have a normal blood level of hormone may be indeterminate.However, regular hormonal control and dose adjustment will be necessary.I will suggest you see your Endocrinologist for follow-up.An interruption of treatment even after having normal values may cause recurrence of symptoms.Reasons why you need regular follow-up by an expert while on medication.
