How Long One Should Take Acyclovir Tabs For Shingles?

how long should I take acyclovir tabs for shingles? I am taking 800mg x 5 perday. I caught the disease two days after the rash appeared around my ribs and the drug has worked very well to alleviate symptoms. It is suggested that 7 days treatment is enough but not being free from internal pain yet I am nervous that the disease will reccur

Thanks for posting on HCM. 7 days treatment of acyclovir is enough for shingles. Take analgesics for the pain. You would be fine. Regards. Best of Health
