How Long It Takes To Recover From Non Displaced Fibula Fracture?

Hey Doc, I am a high school athlete and I consider myself to be an above average jumper and overall athlete. After landing from a dunk in practice saturday I fractured my fibula and it is non displaced. I am fairly confident it can be healed adequately in 6-8 weeks plus rehab but I am also a triple jumper in track and wanted to compete in the spring for at least some of the season. Do you think I can get back to being an explosive athlete by April or May, with little or no complications? Thanks much appreciated!

Hello
Thanks for the query to HCM.
As you mentioned that there is a non-displaced fracture in FIBULA .
As fibula don't play any role in knee joint i.e . not a weight bearing bone so you can participate any type of vigorous exercises in April or may .
But keep remember one thing don't get in direct injury to fractured part , just for precaution .
Otherwise this type of fracture heal or resolve within 12 weeks time.
Good luck.
