How Long Does The Abscess In The Groin Take To Burst?
Hi please can you give me some advice. I have an absess on the lower part of my groin i think as the result of an infection from jock itch. I have already had quite alot of discharge but the area remains swollen. I have a strong cream that has a steroid to help clear up the jock itch and a course of antibiotics for the infection. How long will it be before the swelling reduces? Right now it still feels quite firm and hard but i wasnt sure if this is just part of the healing process. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Noted you have groin abscess. Here discharge is also present with induration.
In skin infection like boil and abscess the inflammation also present . So by inflammation increase exudation and hardening that is induration can present.
When it is under healing process granulation tissue formation is also present which looks redish when healing phase.
Is your abscess fully drain??? If pus totally drained then pain will be very much less. If it is not drained then drainage has to be done fully by putting incision.
You can apply betardine ointment over wound area. Eat healthy food that help in healing fast.
Hope your concern solved...
Take care. . Dr.Parth
