How Long Does Prednisone Take To Treat Bronchitis With Asthma?

Hi, I have bronchitis made worse by asthma. The doctor gave me prednisone that I took ~6hr ago, and I am taking mucinex and umcka. I am feeling worse, having more difficulty breathing. My pulse is 104. B/P is 156/79. Do I need to give the prednisone more time to work or should I be concerned?

In my opinion you should first undergo PFT and consult pulmonologist. Also get done chest x ray to rule out chest infection as many times this infection can worsen your asthma. And start meter dose inhalers with spacer ratger than oral steroids. Long acting beta 2 agonist with inhaled corticosteroids are standard treatment for asthma.
