How Long Does Marijuana Stay In The Body?

My father is in the hospital with a lot opf pain from heart surgery and complications. Opiates, instead of calming him and relieving the pain, just make his anxious and subject to panic attacks. He is now willing to try marijuana to calm the panic attacks. The hospital will not prescribe cannibis. If we gave privatly him some marijuana, would the routine blood tests performed on him detect this?

Thank you.

Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.
No one can really say how long you will test positive for marijuana, since the rate of THC metabolism varies per individual. The amount of marijuana consumed can also alter the window of time that your body retains traces of THC. It usually clears the system in 2-3 days.
It is not detected in routine blood tests.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks
