How Long Does Losartan Takes For BP Management?

After many years on felodipine for BP management, I have added budesonide to manage terminal ileum inflammation from Crohns. After careful discussion with my PCP we decided to phase over to Losartan. From 10mg felodipine to 50mg losartan. From my research it seems that Losartan can take about a month to take over BP management and I am trying to determine how best to phase Losartan and how long and at what level to let felodipine help during the transition? Any thoughts woul be welcome. Thank you. Tony Berg

oh my my
just hold on before u change over.
consult a specialist cardiologist.
felodipine which is a calcium channel blocker taken for a long time if stopped can produce rebound tachycardias.
lorsartan is not as effective as felodipine in BP control in one who had been on CCBs as it is an ARB. newer 2014 guidelines also give the same feedback.
if u want a change over slowly taper the felodipine and introduce lorsartan.
take care when u change chronic medications.
