Hi dear user
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.
Swelling is a major symptom of
hypothyroidism,so your swelled fingers can be due to hypothyroidism.
My advice is to consult an
endocrinologist because you need to do the thyroid tests
TSH,free T3.freeT4 and accordingly to the test results your doctor can make the necessary dose adjustement of
thyronorm.
Generally, thyroid replacement treatment is to be taken for life, except in cases of temporary hypothyroidism, which is usually associated with an inflammation of the thyroid gland (
subacute thyroiditis).
I your case, you have to take the tablets life long because you need to replace a hormone that is usually made by your thyroid gland.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Thank you for using HCM.
Wish you good health.
