I understand your concern and I will do my best to answer your questions.
An irregular episode of bleeding is usually not a sign of anything wrong. We often can't say exactly why it happened but if it was an isolated episode, things will usually go back to normal with the next cycle. The list of things that can cause bleeding between your periods includes
stress, a
cold or
flu, a double ovulation (both ovaries release an egg . . . which sometimes results in twins), an early
pregnancy, pelvic infections, changes in medications,
thyroid or other hormone imbalances, polyps fibroids or other abnormal growths. If it happens 2 or 3 months in a row get in and get checked but it may very well go completely back to normal without a good explanation. I am sorry, there may be no clear cut answer.
Second: Although the average is four to six months, it can take healthy couples up to a year to conceive. Be patient and for most couples conception will happen within that year without any need for extra testing or help from your doctor. Starting a women's
multivitamin, drinking plenty of water, exercising moderately and avoiding
nicotine, alcohol, caffeine and fish with high mercury levels (shark, tuna, mackerel, pike, swordfish for example) can also help.
Best of luck and I hope that helped
