How Long Does Fractured Distal Fibula Take To Heal?

8 days ago, I twisted my ankle and fell. I was subsequently diagnosed with a fracture of the distal fibula. It is immobilized in a walking boot and I was advised to rest the leg/minimal use. Over the past few days, I have developed bruising extending from my toes to just below the knee. The toes are moderately swollen and uncomfortable. I have been taking ibuprofen for pain/swelling. How long can I expect the swelling/bruising to last? How long for this fracture to heal? I am a marathon runner and hoping to resume training asap. Would a bone stimulator device reduce healing time for me?
