Hi Welcome to HCM I understand quite well your concern. First of all I want to say you to stay calm, because you have nothing to worry about. It s normal for your girlfriend to experience such symptoms after she has taken the emergency contraception pill. It s normal that she had this spotting a few days after she took the pill. This happens due to hormonal changes in her body because this pill is a bomb of hormones (progestin or estrogen) which effects all her normal cycle.Some other side effects of the pill that she might experience are also breast tenderness, headaches, and dizziness. These side effects can last for a few days. Her period may come earlier or may delay one or two weeks. Although,I suggest your girlfriend to be careful: 1. to see a doctor if the bleeding doesn t go away by itself in a few days or actually gets heavier with time. This could happen due to a miscarriage, or an ectopic pregnancy. 2.Also, she might get a pregnancy test if her period doesn t come even after a week of her regular period date.
