amoxicillin mostly takes one to two hours for onset of action .you need to have thrice a day 500mg for atleast 5 days.you also need to get a throat culture done . I would like to know few more details about the sore throat . DO you find any neck swelling on both side or on one side . are you having cough ? if yes then what is the nature of cough ? is it dry or productive . is it continous or intermittent . do you have to get up at night when you cough .
