How Long Do Stitches On A Wound Take To Heal?

Hi,I got a stab wound to the head (5cm) and a wound near to my right wrist (2cm).i got stitches for both on August 29,2016,...after which I go an appointment for cleaning a week after on the 5sept,where they clean the wound.the same wrist with the wound is broken so I m wearing a cast with a window for the wound.the next appointment to the doctor is October 10,but I m wondering if 6week is too long for the removal of the stitches.what do u think?

Hi and welcome to HCM. Thanks for your query.
Wounds usually heal for 6 weeks but these are closed and reach its 70% strength 2 weeks after injury. SO suttures should be removed after 2 weeks and 6 weeks is definitely too long and there may be some missunderstood about this so you should ask your doctor again about this.
Wish you good health. Regards
