How Long Do Cysts Last ?

Hello. I have a lump on my armpit that has been there for more than a year. I have had an ultrasound and am getting a biopsy on Friday. I was wondering if it were possible for a cyst or abcess to last that long? If it is then I can hope for one of them. If not I ll have to find some other, less scary than cancer , thing to hope for. Thanks

hi,
cyst last for long time. it seems worry when it start increasing in size. if it remains the same size for yrs without pains then neglect it.abcess doesnt last longer. as you done biopsy allready so it will reveal soon, dont worry if it is not spreading.

lets watch for biopsy report. dont worry everything happens for the good. if there is early detection of cancer growth then it will complitly cure.

Dear Anon,
Ultrasound should be able to detect whether it is cystic, solid or of mixed consistency. You have not mentioned the ultrasound findings. Any way biopsy will have the final say.
Let's hope it is not serious.
