How Long After Starting Thyronorm Will TSH Level Be Regularized?

hello doctor. i am 27 years old ,height 5 4 with 80kgs of weight.I was pre planning for baby and with my blood test reports i found that my TSH level is 51.My doctor has prescribed me Thyronorm 75mcg.Can you please tell me when my TSH level will be normal and when can i conceive a baby?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Normally TSH level is below five, here it is 51. Hence you have been given proper treatment with levothyroxine tablet.
In thyroid patient when conception occurs chances of abortion is high and sometimes it is difficult to conceive.
So to achieve conception and to maintain pregnancy it is desirable to maintain TSH level between 2 to 3.
Regular follow up is to be done with checking TSH level, and dose adjustment can be done accordingly.
