How Is Labyrinthitis Diagnosed?

I had labyrinthitis diagnosed May 26. Symptoms were loss of balance, nausea. I took motion sickness remedies and prednisone. By fall, I got ringing in the ear, and I still feel like my equilibrium is off. The ENT and audiologist say I have 50-65% hearing loss on my left side only. What more can I do? Will hearing improve in the first year? I am 63 and don t like the idea of a hearing aide.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your suffering.. I regret to say that nerve loss is irreversible..Hearing capacity worsens as age progresses.. In such cases ,hearing aid is the only way to restore hearing.

Labyrinth iris is due to various causes.. However, you can help the body to get adapted to regain balance by vestibular Rehabilitation Exercises..

I find this answer helpful
