I need help and i am driving myself crazy!! I may have come in contact with someone who has herpes and i am just trying to figure out what is going on. I went to the dr and was tested...so far only my yeast and bacterial came back negative...still waiting on other results. But in the meanwhile i am a nervous wreck and trying to seek some answers to at least help calm my nerves.
Hello, Welcome to HCM. I understand your concern. Herpes is a viral disease which is transmitted by droplet infection, thorugh fomits & close direct contact. i.e. when patient having infection sneeze or coughs, virus is shed in secretions and can infect those in the surroundings. Fomite means any articles used in routinely and transferred from one to another like hanky, napkin, towel, pen, brush, books etc.You can also get infected if you touch or come in contact with the lesions of herpes. For now, if you haven't developed symptoms, then don't worry and relax yourself as everyone is not susceptible to develop the illness in spite of contact. Hope this will be helpful. Do ask if any further question is there. Thanks for using HCM. Take care.
