How Effective Is Hydroxyzine Medication For Migraine Headache?
HI I AM EXPERIENCING A MIGARINE HEADACHE AND I HAVE ONLY BEEN TAKING TYLENOL DUE TO A GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY I HAD RECENTLY AND I HAVE SOME HYDROXYZINE MEDICATION AND MY NURSE AT MY SURGENTS OFFICE TOLD ME I CAN TRY TAKING IT TO SEE IF IT HELPED WITH MY HEADACHE BUT I WANT TO BE SHORE IT WONT MAKE IT WORSE
Hi, Welcome to HCM, I read your query carefully. There is no indication of using hydroxyzine in migraine. If i will be your treating doctor i will Advise you to 1. Take proper sleep atleast for 8hours. make a proper schedule for eating and sleeping. 2. Avoid certain foods which might trigger the migraine like cheese,chocolates,red wine and dairy products. 3. Do regular exercises and walk. 4. Take Acetaminophen 1000mg twice a day after meal. if it will not be helpful then take Naproxen 500mg twice a day after meal. 5. Avoid sharp lights. 6. Do relaxation exercises. After all these ,if you still do not get better then you should visit your doctor. Hope so it will be helpful. you can write again in case of any query or follow up.
