How Effective Is Albuterol Inhaler?
I am 54 and am having trouble breathing lately. My doctor gave me an albuterol inhaler because he said I was breathing shallow. I just used the inhaler and it made it even harder for me to breath. What could possily e causing this. My chest is tight and I feel like someone is standing on top of it.

I can understand your concern.
Albuterol is bronchodilator. So it is effective only if there is bronchospasm (bronchitis).
Since you are not improving with albuterol and also have chest tightness and pressure, better to rule out cardiac cause for your symptoms.
So get done ecg, 2d echo and stress test.
You may need diuretics and other cardiac supportive drugs.
Don't worry, you will be alright but first rule out heart diseases.
