If you have inserted 800 mg cytotec tab vaginally, then abortion process must have already started and product of conception must have gradually separated and expelled out within 72 hours normally. As your vaginal bleeding (small amount) continues for last 3 weeks, we need to rule out incomplete abortion.

I suggest you to undergo one pelvic ultrasound scan to check retained bits and placental tissue (if any). In that case, repeated dose of above medicine (cytotec) may be required or you may need to undergo dilation and curettage (D and C) to evacuate uterine cavity.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Cytotec contains misoprostol, prostaglandin E1 agonist. It causes contraction of uterus along with cervical ripening and dilation of cervix. Cytotec is used for medical termination of early intrauterine pregnancy for up to 9 weeks (pre-abortion USG is suggested) under the expert opinion of the gynecologist. Home usage is not safe without the gynecologist advice.

Bleeding will start within 1 to 2 hour after last dose of pill and whole abortion process is competed in 3 to 4 days depending upon the age and dose of cytotec. But bleeding last for 3 weeks suggest some abnormality and complication of cytotec.

I think it is due to incomplete abortion or retained product of abortion that bleeds for long time. You should consult the gynecologist and get the USG done (ideally should be done at 14th day after pill use). If retain product found, should be removed by surgical process like dilation and curettage (D and C).

Take proper rest, healthy diet with iron supplements, and maintain pelvic hygiene.
