How Do The Disc Protrusions Be Treated ?

yes hello. I am reading mri results for myself and am a nurse but some of the terminology is beyond me. I have 2 disc protrusions and one bulging disc ranging from c4-c5 to c6-c7. the one that concerns me is as follows:
small to moderate broad based central and right sided disc protrusion with resulting impingement upon central and right anterolateral margins of the thecal sac and to a lesser extent the cord. this is at c6-c-7

Hi there.

As per your reports it is obvious that you have a disc protrusion of moderate nature compresding your spinal cord.
The treatment of disc lesions depends largely on the patients complaints and symptoms though.

In the starting Pain relieving medicines along with exercises and hot fomentation, with propure postural precautions are recommended.
If this doesn't work then local Epidural steroid injections are given. Upto 3 injections can be given.
Last resort if all sorts of medication has failed is surgery mostly in the form of disc removal.

I would like you to consult your orthopedician and get a proper treatment protocol charted out .

I hope my advice has helped.
Good luck
