How Do I Get Rid From Fishy Body Odor ?

hello doctor i have been having a foul fishy scent since the past 2 years.i shower 3 to 4 times a day but no change not even a little.and it smells 24/7 most especially when i sweat. the seems like the more i sweat the stronger it gets. at first i thought i had Trimethylaminuria tmau disorder but when i went to the doctor and he tested me he told me nothing was wrong with me that i was in perfect health. i even tried using the medication for tmau thinking he may have made a mistake but still nothing has change.is this normal?what should i do? ps:the smell also gets bad when its raining and im outside. could it just be my skin?

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Foul fishy body odor can be due to multiple causes.
I would like to know following:
Are you taking any vitamin or other nutritional supplements lately?
Do you have any other symptoms like increased urinary frequency or increased thirst?
Any change in soaps ,sprays , food habits?
Do you have any skin lesions in axillary lesions?
Any other family member having same complains?
Apocrine bromhidrosis or corynebacterial infection can be the cause in your case.

Perhaps a visit to your physician will confirm the diagnosis.
Meanwhile you can use an antibacterial soap which contains triclosan or tea tree oil.
Regular use of deodorant spray containing aluminium ,zinc salt, zirconium will help.
Use of non sensitizing anti bacterial agents like fusidic acid topically can be helpful.
Using an absorptive powder is advisable.

I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
