How Do I Get Nicotine Flushed Out Of My Body After Smoking?
I have a nicotine test tomorrow. I had a cigarette last night around 11 pm. I last smoked before that on Sunday. I have been drinking lots of water all day. At least a gallon to this point. What are my chances of getting it flushed out of my system? The test will be at 2 pm tomorrow, so it will have been roughly 40 hours for last use to test.
Most urine tests detect the presence of both nicotine and cotinine which is a metabolite of nicotine. Cotinine stays in the body for longer than nicotine and can be easily detected in the urine for at least two to four days after the last intake. So there is a high possibility that you may test positive. But if you can avoid exposure to even passive smoking till the test, it is possible that the level of cotinine will not be significant enough to identify you as a smoker, since you were abstinent for around a week before that.
Best wishes.
