How Dangerous Is Blood Sugar Of 400 ?

i forgot to add i am type 2. i am on prednisone and it came down this afternoon after i took some insulin to 175 but is back up to 400 after i ate and took my prednisone for the day. i really don t want to go to the er and am hoping it will come down on its own.

It cannot come down on its own. First of all both your predisone and the insulin dosage has to be adjusted till you are on prednisone. Because Prednisone is a steroid and naturally increases blood glucose and the normal insulin dosage will not be sufficient to regulate it.
