The first social phobia disorder
treatment involves going through cognitive behavioral therapy
. This can be in the form of meeting with a therapist or using audio or textbook aids
. In person therapy is often preferred over reading, but you need to be sure to find a therapist that you are comfortable with and has experience treating patients with social anxiety
The second step to treating social phobia disorder is to use techniques at home. This can include methods such as meditation
or abdominal breathing exercises. Other techniques for social anxiety include self-hypnosis
and progressive muscle relaxation
3.A third step to ending social phobia disorder is to learn how to control your negative thoughts. The reason you fear other people is because you taught your brain to fear social situations. In order to fix this, you need to counteract the negative thoughts with more productive and rational thinking. As soon as you feel your social anxiety kicking in and the thoughts start, you need to counter these thoughts with positive ones.
