How Can Weak Joints And Swollen Knees After ACL Surgery Be Treated?
Broke a stick with my foot & assumed I would meet resistance, which didn't happen. I slammed my foot to ground with straight leg...appears as it my knee took all the shock. I have had meniscus removed & acl surgery 30 years ago. Knee is swollen and joint is weak. Should I treat with rice & hope swelling will subside?
Hello, I have studied your case and I think you are having knee synovitis. I would suggest you to apply ice and compression bandage. You can take tablet Brufen 400 mg twice daily for pain relief. In case pain is not controlled then you need to take x rays of the knee joint to make sure that there is no knee arthritis. As you have meniscus removed long ago so there is always chances of knee arthritis. In such case you might need steroid shot in the knee joint. I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks
