How Can Vaginal Yeast Infection After Taking Lorazepam Be Treated?

I take a few seizure medications: ativan/lorazepam, Felbamate. I read something online saying Lorazepam causes yeast infections, which I m suffering horribly from. I just finished taking Diflucan for 7 days for the infection, but it has gotten worse. I m seeing my gynecologist again tomorrow, even though he hasn t helped me yet. ??? What do you think?

Hi
Thanks for positng your query on HCM.
I have read and understood your concern.
If symptoms persist after 7 days of diflucan, i feel yeast infection may be eliminated. You will need to see the Doctor for further investigation. Many vaginal infections may have the same manifestations like vaginal yeast infection.I wish to know the symptoms you present. In most cases, these infections present with funny vaginal discharges.Other possible causes may include: bacteria vaginosis, chlamydia, Trichomoniasis, PID,....Your symptoms may not be caused by lorazepam.
Tests that may help include: vaginal swap smear test, chlamydia test, pelvic ultrasound, pap smear.
Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns.
Wish you good health
