How Can Vaginal Yeast Infection Causing Dark Discharge And Burning Sensation Be Treated?

The symptom checker says I may have a yeast infection, but I have had one before and it feels nothing like it did before, so I m wondering what I have going on. I have a really dark discharge and my vagina is slightly burning, could I have another type of infection? How can I treat it?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms could be due to vaginal infection like bacterial vaginosis, yeast infection, improper hygiene, diabetes, tight clothing, pure immunity increase the risk of infection. I would suggest to consult the gynecologist and undergo vaginal examination and vaginal swab test to confirm the cause. Doctor will give following advises:

1. Single dose of fluconazole + tinidazole + azithromycine.

2. Vaginal suppository of clingen and lactobacilllus.

3. Apply vagisil cream.

4. Wash vagina with warm salted water and then apply apple cidar vinegar.

5. Avoid douching and perfumed soap and cosmetics. Wear pure cotton loose inner and maintain hygiene.

6. Avoid excessive sweet in diet. Drink plenty of water, eat healthy diet and do regular exercise.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sagar
