How Can Vaginal Itching Be Treated?

My husband has Epididimitis. I started to treat myself with Monostat for a yeast infection. The itching and burning of my vagina and vulva is intense especially after using the treatment cream. Do I need to see a dr? What else could be wrong with me?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Your symptoms could be due to vaginal infection like yeast infection.
I would suggest to consult the gynecologist and undergo vaginal examination and vaginal swab test to confirm the cause.
Doctor will give following advises:
Single dose treatment of azithromycin + fluconazole + tinidazole
Apply vaginal suppository of clotrimazole and lactobacillus
Apply vagisil cream

Wash vagina with warm salted water and then apply apple cidar vinegar
Wear pure cotton loose inner and change it after work out
Keep the area clean and dry
Drink plenty of water and eat healthy diet
Also take proper treatment of the husband.

Hope this may help you

Best regards
Dr. Sagar
