How Can Vaginal Bleeding After Medical Abortion Be Treated?

Hi doctor i had gone through abortion by taking pills for the 1month old foetus as i hv a 3 yr old baby boy nd 6yr old baby girl but evn after 31 days also it didnt stop bleeding so doctor suggested me to scan scanning had a normal report wht should i do iam getting heavy bleeding since 2 days black clots r more plz suggest me

hi mam,i can understand your distress.most of people bleed for 2 weeks and a few upto 4 to 6 weeks.as scanning is also normal,you need not worry.i suggest iron preparations to my patients after medical or surgical abortion,especially with heavy bleeding.it is advisable to take iron preparations for atleast 3 to 4 months or until Hb% reaches 11gm%.if the following symptoms appear,you need a consultation:
1. Very heavy bleeding that soaks through more than 2 sanitary pads
an hour.
2. Abdominal pain or discomfort that is not helped by pain relief
medication or by heat pad.
3.Vaginal discharge that smells unpleasant.
