hi my name is Vicki my husband has been diagnosed with tongue and neck cancer scs it is very aggressive and is already just about every where in his face and neck it has been 4 weeks since his diagnoses and treatment has still not started the mask has to be made for the radiation yet what do I do about this I rang today and was told they will be in touch when tha doctor has done his plan I am very concerned this cancer will spread please advise what to do I live in Tasmania
If your husband is diagnosed with Tongue and Neck Cancer and it is already spreading then wasting time without treatment can make the cancer cells continue to spread leading to fatal outcomes..
So in case if your doctor is delaying the treatment then you can consult another oncologist and get him evaluated..
Immediate treatment should be initiated which can involve Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy..
You can consult any multispeciality hospital or a cancer hospital where immediate admission and treatment can be done..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
