How Can The Odour Produced By Callus On Foot Be Dealt With?

I have a callus on my foot that is about the size of aquarter. I just recently noticed a sort of white puss around it and not to mention a really bad odour. How do I get rid of the callus? Is there any way to do it at home? Also what do I do about the smell.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
A foul smelling callus is possibly infected. You need to treat the infection first. Please take an oral antibiotic like amoxyclav for five to seven days. Soak your feet in warm water to help drain and clean the pus followed by application of a topical antibiotic like mupirocin or fusidic acid. Once the infection is gone, foul smell will subside. Later on you can consult a dermatologist to pare your callus/corn.
Hope this helped
