Hello Sir, I have a dark complexion and I have no problems with it as such but ever since i have started going out in the sun for outings and shopping I have realised that within minutes my face gets tanned and attains a darker and reddish shade. I have used sunscreen with SPF 15 and 30 with with no avail, infact after applying sunscreen and stepping out my face gets even more darker, perhaps it does not suit me. My face even lacks glow and looks dull. What should I do?
Dear Gentlysmart, Welcome to Healthcaremagic!
Dark complexioned people usually have no problem with sunlight as there skin is more tolerant for UV rays. Still few persons may have reactions which like in your case may be a polymorphic light eruption [PLE], a type of sunburn. I advice you to use a MEDICATED sunscreen with SPF of 20-30, with protection against both UV-A & UV-B rays. Also, repeat application every 3-4 hours. Good Luck.
