As the viral infection resolves after the virus completes its cycle in human body , so commonly symptomatic treatment is given to the individual.. Antibiotics are not advised in viral infection because they can fight bacterial infection not viral. In your case also appropriate medications are advised for which Chlorpheniramine Maleate is helpful in reducing sneezing and coughing, bromohexine is a mucolytic while lysozyme helps in reducing inflammation and is anti bacterial in action.. So continue taking the same and along with it take Ibuprofen to reduce pain due to Tonsillitis, do warm saline gargles and steam inhalations.. Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
