How Can Sinusitis Along With Fever And Body Ache Be Treated?

I have had flu strep throat sinus infection fever body ache symtems for over a month. I have just started my own business and my 24 year old daughter and 1 1/2 year old grandson have just moved back in my house. My symptoms are are so bad i am only able to devote a fraction of the time needed and my businesss is failing due to my health and stress. I have not gone to doctor because at age 58 I am in tune with my body and also am afraid i will just blow 120 bucks to have them say since i dont have an infection i can just pay for the visit and no antibiotic. I was force retired 3 years ago from major health corp and not workrd since so dont have money or insurance to just throw out the window. What say you wizard of oz ????????

Hi,

As per your complain it seems to be a viral infection causing cold and sinus infection but as it is lingering since one moth, it has to be taken care of to prevent aggravation and secondary infections.

As of now you can start with supportive treatment to relieve the symptoms like:

- Gargle with a warm saline solution that is by mixing 1 teaspoon salt in a glass of water and warm it to make a luke warm solution.

- Take a combination of decongestant like Phenylephrine, mucolytic like Ambroxol and anti allergic levocetrizine and another combination of Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen.

- Take cough expectorant containing Gueifenesin and cough suppressant containing Dextromethorphan.

- Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily.

- Do steam inhalations and saline nasal irrigations.

- Avoid spicy and chilled foods.

- Sip on warm water throughout the day.

- Do warm compresses over chest.

Hopefully the symptoms will resolve within a week and if it worsen consult a General Physician and get evaluated. A proper examination, blood tests and chest x ray will be done to rule out the cause and treatment will be done accordingly.

Hope this information helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks and regards,
