Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I fell down 3 yrs ago and hurt my knee real bad. MRI showed broken chip bones and damaged cartilage. No insurance at the time. Hasn t really bothered me until now on the inside of my left knee I m getting a stabbing pain. I ve tried ice, heat, sometimes 4 ibuprofen it s getting worse
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
The pain you are feeling now on the inside of your left knee, while reporting a personal history of falling down around 3 years ago, is suggestive of possible acute inflammation of the knee.
You might have hurt it recently (without noticing) or sprained somehow. If there is swelling of the knee, and if the pain is not getting improved, I highly recommend to see an orthopedic specialist.
Furthermore, you need an X-ray of the knee to see the possible changes there now.
For the moment, until you see the specialist, I advise to continue applying ice pads alternating with warm pad, continue taking ibuprofen, avoid moving your knee; apply analgesic cream locally.
Wish fast recovery.
