How Can Scrotum Infection With Pain And Swelling Be Treated?
hi Dr.I had a resection of my prostate on the 17 of Jan/11- everything was evolving nicely untill the 11 of Feb. When got an infection on my right scrotum which was very painful. I was readmitted to hospital and stayed there another week. now I'm home again but the swelling is still considerable and still some pain. What can you advice me to get better faster. Mario
Hello Mario and welcome to HCM. Well, i can understand your concern. As an Urologist, i can advise you that, similar cases do occur after a TURP(Prostate surgery). You need to keep the scrotum well supported so as to elevate it. That helps in reducing the swelling, caused by inflammation inside. If possible, rest for another two weeks, will help in resolving the pain and swelling ,along with the medication you're taking. Hope your doubts are cleared. You can contact me by name if needed. Dr.Matthew Mangat.
