How Can Recurrent Bloating And Gas Be Managed?

My dr said I had a floppy colon , but didn t explain if there s anything that can be done about it , he told me to take 2 Phillips cap let s daily , but I still stay contstaped , with lots of gad and bloating , is there anything that can be done for this , thank you

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of recurrent bloating and gas which seems to be due to irritable bowel syndrome, intolerance to dairy products and overgrowth of bacteria in the small bowel.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid food like dairy products. You should drink warm water and do light exercises and eat light and non spicy food. If condition doesn't get well then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe H2 blockers, proton pump inhibitor along with antibiotics and anti inflammatory medications. You should take plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration.
