How Can Recurrent Acid Reflux Be Treated?

Hi I have taken pantoprazole for the past two months and it stopped my heartburn pain. I stopped taking it and within 3 days my heartburn came back. is this a medication that I can take for long periods of time and are there side effects from taking it for long periods Thank You

Hi, I think you can take it for long periods but you need to know the reason of recurrent acid reflux. Get a upper GI endoscopy done and an abdominal ultrasound to rule out any gall bladder problem. Get yourself tested for H.pylori also. Discuss with your doctor regarding this.
