The
pregnancy is never diagnosed on the thickness of the uterine lining. Uterine lining thickness indicates the levels of a hormone called as oestrogen, which is responsible for its growth.
The symptoms in early phases raise the suspicion of pregnancy which is confirmed by some investigations.
The symptoms of early pregnancy - in first three months are:
1. Missing a period
2.
Nausea and vomiting
3. Frequency of urination
4. Breast Changes -
* Engorgement and tenderness
* Brownish discolouration of nipples and
areola. This happens in first pregnancy and is permanent change.
* Increasing the size of areola
* Clear secretions from nipple on squeezing
However, pregnancy is never diagnosed on any of these symptoms. For confirmation of pregnancy, clinical examination is necessary. To support the clinical diagnosis, urine pregnancy test and/or
ultrasonography after 8-10 days of missed period is performed.
Beta hCG test is highly specific and sensitive which can give reliable results within 2-3 days of missed period.
It is very difficult to opine on the report of ultrasonography that has been mentioned. The position of those ball like lesions has not been mentioned. They could be polypoid growths or cystic lesions. However, polyps with uterine lining thickness of 8.6 mm is rare. If you upload the ultrasonography pictures and ask me direct or premium question, I can opine more scientifically about the two growths.
Your uterine lining thickness of 8.6 mm is within normal limits.
