How Can Persistent Anal Itching Be Treated?

Hi doctor I ve been living with annual itchy for over 5 years. I ve been to 3 doctors they all say it should go away after using the creams they prescribed for me. But it on My go away for few times. It s worse at night. During the it s manageable. What can be done to remedy this? Worried Khanyisa

Thanks for asking.
Anal itching over a long period can be due to -
-Chronic constipation causing stretching of anal opening.
-Any infection/infestation (thread worm)can cause such itching.
-Fungal infection/allergy or exaematous dermatitis can be the cause.
*Local examination,investigations to find the basic cause,treatment of the cause &local skin lesion must be fone simultaneously for effective relief.
