How Can Peripheral Neuropathy And Hot Flashes Be Treated?

Following Chemo treatment for Breast Cancer, I have experiences neuropathy in my feet, hot flashes and everything tastes awful making it difficult to eat. I took Gabapenin for 5 months and it didn t seem to help. I am now taking Imipramine which does help the foot pain, but the other symptoms. The pharmacy suggest that Cymbalta (duloxetine) may help. Any suggestions?

Hi mam. Some people on chemotherapy experience this.
But i suggest you to get done a complete blood count as this may show some abnormalities like macrocytic anaemia in which you may have peripheral neuropathy.

If blood counts and pheripheral smear is normal. You can go for nerve conduction studies instead of trying out many drugs.

By this two investigations you will come to know the cause. Based on this, the treatment can be provided.

Thank you.
