How Can Painful Rheumatoid Arthritis Be Treated?

Hello I ve been told I have RA ..the truth is I ve been in some level of pain since 2004...Sometimes the pain is not so bad I assume that means it s in remission which it is NOT right now nor has it been for the past 3 weeks. I take 600mg of ibuprofen 4 times a day plus 50 mg of Tramadol ..... this makes the pain manageable. This week has been the worst of the past 3 weeks ...I m bruising which is new....I look like someone has been hitting me and I feel like I ve been in a car accident sore all over.....plus the nodules on my feet and of course mt wrist. Should I be worried about the bruising?

Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern.
I see that you are taking a lot of pain killers so I want to give you some advices on how to reduce the pain :
-Use heat and cold: Ice packs can reduce joint swelling and inflammation. Heat compresses relax muscles and stimulate blood flow.
-Acupuncture:acupuncture curbs pain, may lower the need for painkillers, and is good for flexibility in affected joints
- stress management, plus improve sleep and how you react to pain.
-Use fish oil that has omega 3
-don't smoke
-Regular exercise can cut down on RA pain
-do therapeutic massage.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
