How Can Painful Got On The Left Foot Be Treated?

I am wondering if I have gout. My big toe on my left foot has some edema in it and is very painful to touch. I thought maybe I have a stress fracture but the pain come on in the middle of the night. there isn t any ecchymosis but a slight redness between the two toes. I have elevated it, iced it and put an ace wrap on it. the pain has been mostly during the last two night but during the it just throbs.

Hello,
There is no way to tell if it is gout for sure except to get some of the fluid out of the joint and look at it under the microscope. If it is gout, ice will make it worse. Try anti-inflammatories like advil (if you can take that), heat and elevation. Stay well hydrated. Avoid caffeine, nicotine and alcohol. See your doctor for a diagnosis.
