How Can Osteomyelitis Be Treated?

Do ppl ever get over Osteomylitis? My husband has it in his foot and leg treated with high doses of antibiotics through a picc line for two months. Lab all normal at the end of two months. Placed on Keflex oral tid for two weeks then bid and guess what it is back. Now, after another round of antibiotics through a picc line again now. What are we to expect? Now after two MRI s now it is in his back. Dr s tell me that his infection markers are ok. But he still severe back pain. He is a diabetic and now has clots in the lungs. History of Diabetes, CHF, Charcots, DVT times two and one PE several years ago. He is a wreck and only 66. If you can give me some direction it would be appreciated. Thanks Terri
