Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello .. I am married to a man who has a history of abuse/addiction to prescription pain meds and says he no longer abuses them. I found an EOB in the mail that states he received Ketorolac, nalbuphine injection, promethazine injection, and oral ondansetron from a walk in clinic he went to. I confronted him on the reason he went to the clinic and why he received these pain meds. He did have bronchitis and states he went for that reason and that s what they gave him. Could this be possible?
Over the counter drug abuse is very clear common in people with multiple body aches.May be your husband has somatic complaints for which he is seeking medical help. But regular use it f pain medicines can lead to side effects like liver disorder, renal disorder.
It is better if you take psychiatrist's help.Doctor might prescribe TCA s like amitryptylline or nortryptilline.
Hope the answer has helped you.
