How Can Itchy Bumps At The Site Of Vaccine Administration Be Treated?

After getting 3 vaccines, I developed itchy bumps around the sites of injection. The bumps cover about a 2-3 cm radius around the injection sites. The bumps appeared 48hrs post-vaccination. One particular vaccine was given subcutaneously, and the entire area where the vaccine was injected is also red and itchy. These don t appear to be typical hives. I have had similar reactions when getting blood drawn (i.e. itchy bumps a few days post-needle). Is this a delayed allergic response? Could it be a reaction to the needle?

Hello,
These bumps should go away on their own, but there are things you can do to lessen the itching. Use cool compresses frequently. Avoid friction to the area whenever possible. Keep cool, even hot showers can make the itching worse. Use lotion if the skin is dry. Dry skin is itchier.
Best wishes
