Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have small boils on my scalp and they itch a lot for last three months, I t is not a chicken pox and they are around the back of scalp and on sides above the ear areas. I have applied hair oil to sooth scalp dryness but it does not kelp. Please advise.
It is possible that it maybe a fungal infection of the scalp may be present. This would cause itching. Scratching of the affected areas can cause a secondary bacterial infection to occur along with the fungal infection.
You may need to consider seeing your doctor to see if this is the case for you. IF this is the case then you would need oral antibiotics and anti fungal medication
I hope this helps
