How Can Itching In Legs And Inner Thighs Be Treated?

Hi Doctor, .... There is a itching between legs near inner thighs ( near joints ) & also itches above penis (i.e inside hairs above penis)... the skin has become dark. before it was small now it has enlarged.. please tell the remedy for this problem...

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I would keep a possibility of fungal infection in the groins. Classically fungla infection presents as annular lesions with peripheral spreading red raised margins, scaling along the edge and central clearing. Itching is an association.

If I was the treating doctor I would have suggested you to use an OTC antifungal e.g clotrimazole cream for 4-6 weeks, at a stretch. Stopping it mid way would allow the fungus to come back again.

Along with that, I would also suggest an oral antifungal e.g fluconazole 150mg once every week for 4 -6 weeks.

An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg once daily would provide symptomatic relief from itching.
