How Can I Get Rid Of Scars In Inner Thigh And Underarms Caused By Fungal Infection And Get A Fairer Skin?

hi doctor, im 21 years old. i suffered with fungus infection two years back .but my inner thighs,under arms remained dark.how can i get rid of them?i used hair removal creams and also am over weight of 165lbs. plz help me to make my skin totally lighter.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Pigmentation in your underarms and inner thighs can be due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation due to fungal infection or due to a condition known as acanthosis nigricans.
To treat the same, you may use hydroquinone, tretinoin or glycolic acid based creams.
Also few sessions of chemical peels would give you very good results.
use of depilatory creams should be avoided if having pigmentation. Laser hair reduction would be a better choice.
